People are A-holes. My wife witnessed this kitten being hit by a car this AM, 3 cars ahead of her didn't stop. Of course she did & the kitten is now at Haw Creek Animal Hospital. Fund-raising in progress to pay this vet bill.

The kitten was named "Slinky" but our Vet, H. Sinclare at Haw Creek Animal Hospital, I understand he is recuperating - hopefully he will be available for adoption soon.Latest update on Slinky 6/21 @ 23:30. Dr Sinclair just said she is worried about Slinky. He did not have any broken bones but she is worried about internal bleeding. His gums are now pale & his heart rate is increasing. PCV is 20% so not terribly anemic but surgery is most likely in his future. I am beyond worried about him & will continue to say extra prayers. He is in excellent hands.

Update on Slinky 6/21 @ 22:10. Slinky is being observed overnight. Dr Sinclair said he did not need surgery tonight & a decision would be made tomorrow about the fluid in his abdomen. Along with donations, he needs prayers & positive thoughts. Thank you all so much for helping this sweet little fella. I’ve started stalking the car wash looking for mama & any other babies. Unless he was put out (or thrown out) there should be more around. I left my business card with car wash employees.

Leaving the Spay/Neuter Alliance this morning, I was fretting over the $941 bill (before we turned in 6 today for speuter), when I saw a kitten struck by a car. No attempt was made to avoid the kitten & the lane beside the car was open. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt & say they didn’t see the kitten & didn’t stop to help because they didn’t know they hit him. To the 3 cars behind them, that didn’t stop or change lanes, shame on you. The poor kitten could have been hit again. I stopped in the turn lane & jumped out. People still didn’t stop. Grabbed a carrier & grabbed the kitten. Zip’s Car Wash employees said the kitten was there this morning but didn’t belong to them. We rushed off to Haw Creek where Dr. Heather Sinclair &Lesley K. Hughess are taking care of him. His tongue was stuck on his teeth which Lesley immediately fixed so he was breathing easier. Dr. Sinclair named him Slinky because he’s attempting to walk & is “slinking” along. He is currently having X-rays. If you can donate toward his Vet bill, please call Haw Creek Animal Hospital at 828-298-1678, Slinky with Pam Lookabill from FurEver Friends or Paypal at fureverfriends@bellsouth.net. This little one may just get lucky. Tuesday night we took in 7 kittens without funding. I had planned to do a fundraiser for them. This little one comes first. Please help us help him. No amount is too small. Thank you. #FurEverFriends #SaveSlinky
